It was a warm day in June, 2005. Beyond a sleepy city haze, nestled somewhere in the chaos of a charming concrete jungle known to many as Manila, pinklaquer sprang to life.
pinklaquer is the quintessence of creativity of Nicola Richards.
At twenty one, born in Dubai and raised in parts of South East Asia, pinklaquer constantly finds inspiration through her diverse background, personal interests and her curious discoveries of everyday life.
Her introduction to art began through the influence of her older sister. "It was a kick start to the art scene. My sister would spend most of her idle time doodling, playing with color and making things. We were always very close, and like all younger siblings I looked up to her with admiration..I jumped on the bandwagon and she was always more than happy to show me the ropes."
Since then pinklaquer has discovered her own style through media and a support network of family and friends, much of which are reflected in her work. Venturing into a technical perspective, pinklaquer pursued New Media Design as another avenue of experience and expression. "The coolest thing about art in any form, shape or size is that it is constantly evolving," she says "I find myself learning something new, or finding a portal into a totally different avenue. Living, breathing Art is a constant learning process."
